As we celebrate our first anniversary, we thought it would be great to introduce ourselves to everyone, and give a little background into why we do what we do.
When we first started our relationship with Curaleaf a year ago, we had no idea how we would grow in the cannabis community! The relationships we’ve built are what drive us in the cannabis community, and we’re always looking for more.
From senior expos to cannabis events, we are everywhere because there are people everywhere who are curious about cannabis, especially when it comes to older loved ones.
But, how did we get here? It all started with Randi’s mom dealing with her struggles with MS.
From Randi:
"I discovered a new passion: educating seniors on the benefits of medical cannabis."
This revelation came during my mother’s struggle with chronic nerve pain caused by multiple sclerosis (MS) and over medication with opioids prescribed by her many doctors. These medications led to debilitating side effects and frequent emergency room visits. Leveraging my extensive knowledge as a medical cannabis patient, I successfully guided my mother off opioids and on to medical cannabis. The results were life-changing: her pain was significantly reduced, ER visits stopped, and her quality of life improved.
This transformative experience revealed a pressing need amongst seniors: navigating the complexities of medical cannabis. Many new patients feel overwhelmed in dispensaries, often lacking the guidance they need to choose the right products for their unique health conditions. It became clear to me that patients deserve an advocate; someone to create tailored care plans, explain products and dosages and provide the support necessary for a safe and effective transition to medical cannabis.
With this purpose, I founded WeedWorks. Our mission is to bridge the gap between the dispensaries and the senior/medical community by offering personalized guidance, education, and compassionate care. We aim to dismantle the stigma surrounding cannabis while empowering seniors to explore cannabis as a natural, effective alternative, when traditional treatments have proven inadequate.”
Since then, we’ve been featured in the Lovin Life magazine, and their Ask Sherry column, as well as Jewish News. On YouTube, you can watch our videos with Senior Resource Center on Alzheimer's and cannabis and Seniors& Cannabis: Fighting the Stigma with Education.
We offer concierge services, which are designed to provide personalized, hands-on support to help you discover the best products and methods for your unique needs, as well as Dispensary Consultation Services, working to set the senior community customer base up for success to help in the creation of repeat, loyal customers for your dispensary. We also offer Cannabis Education Services. Our education services offer customized training and seminars designed to educate the healthcare community on working with patients who use cannabis as medicine.
